About MowMentor
MowMentor exists because of a gap in the robot mower world. The big reviews are written for big lawns: half-acre plots, gentle contours, unbroken sunshine. Most of us garden somewhere smaller, steeper and shadier than that — and until recently, the advice for such gardens was a shrug and a secondhand petrol mower.

The arrival of wire-free mowers changed the sums. Satellite, LiDAR and camera models can be matched to awkward gardens in a way the old boundary-wire machines never could — but only if you understand which navigation suits which plot, and the manufacturers' pages are not always in a hurry to explain the trade-offs. That explanation is our whole job.
We are an independent, reader-supported publication. Our comparisons are research-based — specifications, manuals and published data, weighed carefully and written plainly — and we are upfront about the limits of that approach on our methodology page. The site is written in two editions from one home: a US edition in dollars, and a UK edition in pounds, because a small garden in Ohio and a small garden in Yorkshire have more in common with each other than either has with a show lawn.
If you have a correction, a question, or a garden so awkward it deserves its own case study, we would be glad to hear from you — contact details will live here once the site launches properly. Until then, happy mowing, or rather: happy watching something else do the mowing.
